Mandalika (13/10) — D'BASE Team is a team formed in 2020, where the Shell Eco-Marathon team in the BINUS ASO School of Engineering succeeded in making SEM cars for the urban concept ICE category from zero to passing. This team has also been ranked 14th out of 80 finalists at the Asian level and is in the 28th position out of 235 teams for the global ranking.

This year, the Shell Eco-Marathon is held again and is the first time for Indonesia to host an environmentally friendly car competition. The event which was held on 11-15 October 2022 at the Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) was attended by 78 student teams including the D'BASE Team from BINUS ASO, and consisted of 13 countries in Asia Pacific and the Middle East regions. The Shell Eco-Marathon is an energy-efficient vehicle innovation competition that has been held since 2010 and has challenged student teams in Asia.

On this occasion, the D'BASE Team registered its team again to advance in the energy-efficient vehicle innovation competition and successfully passed the final inspection. This inspection consists of various steps or steps carried out over two days, namely from 12 to 13 October 2022 by a team from Shell Eco-Marathon. After that, the D'BASE Team will do exercises and experiments before the race starts.

Passing the final inspection, D'BASE team from BINUS ASO School of Engineering is ready to compete in Shell Eco-Marathon 2022 in Mandalika.

The preparations made by the D'BASE Team before leaving for Mandalika for the Shell Eco-Marathon 2022 competition have proven that the abilities and expertise of Indonesia's young generation are not inferior to other countries teams. Therefore, the team from BINUS ASO School of Engineering is ready to compete to continue this stage of the competition.

BINUS ASO School of Engineering itself has SEM cars with urban concepts and prototype vehicle designs. The urban concept uses an internal combustion engine, while the prototype type uses an electric battery as the main energy material. The two cars are the work of BINUS ASO students or the D'BASE Team.

The Shell Eco-Marathon 2022 event is an opportunity to raise the spirit of innovation and competition, especially for the D'BASE team who successfully passed the final inspection stage with several teams from other universities. This activity is also expected to be a good step in developing environmentally friendly cars so that it will have a good impact on Indonesia and the world.
