Introduction

The Smart Factory Laboratory (SFL) is a highly integrated production facility that utilizes the most advanced technology such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics. The integration allows companies to streamline and automate the production process, increasing efficiency, enhancing productivity, and reducing defects in manufactured components.

Equipment and Facility

Smart Factory Support Center The SFL is equipped with 22 units of modern personal and portable computers. The notebook has specifications: Lenovo IdeaPad 3 151AU7, i5-1235U 1.3 GHz Inter processors, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. As many as 23 units of computer monitors are available with specifications: LG 27MP400-B, 27-inch screen with a resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels, Panel IPS with a ratio of 16:9, and a refresh rate of 75 Hz.

PLC Trainer Facility The facility is equipped with 6 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) trainers that can accommodate 12 trainees at a time. The PLC trainer module provides all the basic knowledges and skill required to program PLC and Human Machine Interface (HMI). Trainees can also learn how to interface PLC with actual sensors and actuators, such as switches, buttons, lamps, buzzer, servo motor, and some other digital and analog sensors.

Intelligent Logistic System This facility is intended to showcase an actual smart logistic system, consisted of automated facilities for storage, picking/classification, and invoice labeling, using conveyors, barcode readers, high-speed invoice labeler. This facility is still under development, the installation is schedule to finished on September 2024.

Office Space The SFL is established in an area of 9.0-by-7.9 square meters to facilitate students and researchers and team discussion with the capacity of 24 people. Back office support as much as 5 persons.

Printer The SFL has a laser and multi functions printer machine of Brother MFC-L8690CDW for printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. The machine printing rate is 33 ppm for A4 or letter paper size.
