As a group of students from Business Engineering B2027, we’ve always been eager to turn our creative ideas into something real. That’s how Meltea was born, a business project we created to make the tea-drinking experience easier, more personal, and a whole lot more fun.

At its core, Meltea is all about tea bombs, sugar-coated balls filled with premium tea leaves. Just drop one into hot water, watch it melt like magic, and in seconds, you’ve got yourself a perfectly brewed cup of tea. No mess, no hassle, just a beautiful and flavorful tea moment.

On Friday, May 2nd, 2025, we brought Meltea to life at BINUS FESTIVAL (BIFEST), an exciting annual celebration held at BINUS @ Alam Sutera. BIFEST is all about showcasing student creativity and innovation, and we were thrilled to be a part of it.

To get people excited, we prepared free testers of all three of our signature flavors. We knew that once people tasted them, they’d fall in love just like we did. So, we brewed sample cups fresh at the booth and offered them to anyone who passed by. Each flavor had its own charm:

  • Petel Rêves: a calming blend of chamomile, rose, and green tea, perfect for dreamers and peace-seekers.
  • Lady Chrysanthemum: a floral and fruity infusion of chrysanthemum, goji berries, and subtle sweetness.
  • Citrus Dusk: our best seller, combining bold black tea with a zesty lemon twist for a refreshing wake-up call in a cup.

Our Meltea booth opened from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and from the very start, the response was beyond what we imagined. People were curious about our booth display and unique tea bombs, and once they took a sip of the testers, many couldn’t resist buying one or several!

We interacted with students, lecturers, and visitors from all over campus. Some came for the aesthetics, others for the taste, and many were intrigued by the concept of our product. It was incredibly rewarding to see people genuinely excited about what we had created.

And the best part? We completely sold out! Every single tea bomb was gone by the end of our booth hours. It was an unbelievable moment for us, seeing all our hard work pay off like that. From planning, designing, and producing the tea bombs to handling the booth and talking with customers, it all came together so smoothly.

But BIFEST wasn’t just about sales. It was a valuable learning experience too. We discovered what it’s like to pitch a product in real-time, to answer questions on the spot, and to adapt when something doesn’t go according to plan. We learned how to work better as a team, manage time under pressure, and keep things running while staying upbeat and enthusiastic.

We also had a lot of fun, laughing through the chaos, bonding over bubble wrap mishaps, and celebrating every sale like it was our first. It wasn’t just a school event; it felt like a small taste of what running a real business could be like, and we loved every second of it.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, supported us, and cheered us on. Your kind words and happy faces meant the world to us. We’re so proud of what we accomplished at BIFEST 2025, and we can’t wait to keep brewing new ideas in the future.
