What if a daily activity as simple as taking a shower could be redesigned to support both personal well-being and environmental sustainability?<\/p>\n

That question inspired the creation of SEI-GEN<\/strong>, a shower head concept developed by Product Design Engineering students as part of the Biology<\/strong> course taught by Miss Melinda Siswanto, M.Eng (Biomedical), B.Bmed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rather than viewing biology as a subject confined to textbooks, students explored how biological principles can be applied to real-world product design. The result is a concept that combines water filtration, pico-bubble technology, and water-saving features into a single product aimed at enhancing the bathing experience.<\/p>\n

The project began with an exploration of the relationship between water quality, skin health, and daily human activities. From there, students translated scientific insights into design concepts, engineering specifications, and product visualizations, demonstrating how science can become the foundation of innovation.<\/p>\n

Beyond its technical features, SEI-GEN also reflects the values of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being<\/strong> and SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation<\/strong>, by encouraging healthier water usage and more responsible water consumption.<\/p>\n

SEI-GEN showcases how Product Design Engineering students connect science, engineering, and design to develop solutions that are not only functional, but also meaningful for everyday life.<\/p>\n
