Sora: The New “Monster” Realistic Text to Video AI Generator by Open AI
Bulan Februari 2024 ini OpenAI mengumumkan "monster" baru dalam bidang generatif AI. Ya perusahaan yg sebelumnya melaunch produk bernama "ChatGPT" yg menjadikan AI sangat popular dengan kehadirannya. Berbeda dengan ChatGPT, Sora merupakan produk baru berbasis generatif AI yang punya kemampuan men"generate" video berdasarkan perintah/deskripsi text. Seperti halnya model GPT, Sora (Model AI) ini juga dikembangkan dengan menggunakan arsitektur AI dasar yang sama yaitu Transformer.
Disebutkan dalam laman resmi OpenAI bahwa Sora dikembangkan dengan mengajarkan "mesin AI" untuk memahami dan mensimulasikan dunia nyata (physical world) dalam bentuk gerakan (bisa diartikan video). Model AI yang dinamakan Sora ini disebutkan memiliki kemampuan men"generate" / membuat video dengan durasi hingga 1 menit berdasarkan perintah text dari penggunanya.
Disebutkan juga Sora memiliki kemampuan menciptakan scene video yang kompleks dengan details yang akurat serta diharapkan memiliki kemampuan untuk mensimulasikan dunia nyata (physical world).

Meski memiliki banyak kelebihan, disebutkan juga Sora memiliki kelemahan terutama dalam mensimulasikan secara detail gejala fisika yang kompleks. Sebagai contoh dalam sebuah scene/adegan video mungkin terdapat seseorang yang menggigit sebuah kue, namun setelahnya di kue tersebut tidak memiliki bekas gigitan orang tadi.
Yang menjadikan Sora disebut sebagai "monster" pada awal artikel ini adalah hasil video yang di"generate" oleh Sora terlihat sangat realistik dan resolusi yang tinggi, bahkan bisa membuat video yang seolah olah merupakan rekaman dari drone beresolusi tinggi. Tentu saja kemampuan ini bisa menjadi tantangan baru bagi manusia terutama untuk menangkal video asli atau video "palsu" hasil dari generatif AI.
Sebagai catatan pada saat artikel ini ditulis, Sora masih belum bisa diakses secara bebas atau dengan kata lain masih dalam tahap "pengujian".
